May 18 and 19 in Plum - Mont-Dore
On May 18 and 19, the EEC Engie Trails Festival will take place. It’s a benchmark sporting event in the deep south!
1-The Village
The great distance of the UTCC requires active organization for more than approximately 48 hours around the start. The village, the main venue for the UTC, is located in Plum and remains open throughout the event. Every year, this village improves to offer upon the arrival of participants and visitors all the amenities to make them feel welcome: signage, parking, electricity, toilets, lockers, partner stands, entertainment for adults and children, health area, food short, ... “Your village has nothing to envy of certain major international trails” told us Nobuhito, our Japanese ambassador and professional in travel for trailers.
2- An eco-responsible event.
With the help of local institutions (Mont-dore town hall, Zero Waste Pacific, etc.), the festival tries every year to further reduce its ecological footprint: sorting and reduction of waste, sustainable signage and limited goodies.
3- Les Eaux du Mont-Dore health area
An essential point! The priority of the UTNC is to raise awareness among all runners, experienced and beginners alike, about their health in the broad sense: by encouraging them to run and participate in the Trails Festival but also by teaching them how to run, how to prepare, how to to hydrate, to recover... The local associative fabric mobilizes every year to raise awareness and make their cause known to runners, and we hire health professionals to complete this trail learning: before, during and after the races. But the step is high and each new edition brings us its share of lessons to better communicate on the health of all.
